Coffee distributor 53,3mm
Why use a coffee distributor?
When you buy a Sage espresso machine, you typically get a few basic tools, like a tamper and a portafilter.
You’ll also find a small metal tool called the Razor. Some home baristas use the Razor as a makeshift distributor, but did you know it’s not actually designed for that purpose?
According to Sage, the Razor is meant to level off excess ground coffee from your portafilter basket.
That’s why a coffee distributor is a perfect addition to your Sage espresso tool kit.
A distributor helps spread your coffee grounds evenly before tamping. This reduces the risk of uneven extraction and an unexpectedly sour espresso.

We also offer smaller sizes, like the 51 mm coffee distributor, which is especially popular with DeLonghi home baristas.
Coffee distribution tips
There are many other tools that can help you get great-tasting coffee at home. Here are a few recommendations that complement our coffee distribution tool.
Distributor & Tamper Combo
In addition to the standard distributor, we also offer a practical 2-in-1 accessory: the distributor & palm tamper combo.
This tool combines a coffee distributor with a palm tamper, both of which are easily depth-adjustable and save space in your coffee corner.
The palm tamper ensures consistent pressure and depth every time, as it presses down until the edges align perfectly with your portafilter.
Use a WDT tool
Not everyone imagines a distributor as a tool with rotating discs. Some think of a WDT tool instead.
A WDT tool features ultra-thin needles (0.7 mm!) that you stir gently through the grounds in your portafilter basket. This breaks up clumps and improves puck preparation for better extraction.
Some home baristas also swear by using a puck screen for perfectly even water flow.
This metal screen is placed on top of your puck, and its fine perforations evenly distribute the water as it flows from the group head.
