Why choose coffee glasses?

A proper home barista drinks their coffee from a glass or cup designed specifically for the purpose. That way, you know your drink stays warm and the proportions are just right, no unimportant things when you want to get the most out of your espresso machine at home.

Alongside our porcelain barista cups, we now also offer coffee glasses for home baristas. Available in two sizes and made from beautiful ribbed glass for your best latte macchiato, iced coffee, or matcha latte.

What sizes of coffee glasses are available?

At Barista-Essentials, you can choose between two different coffee glass sizes. Both are designed with different coffee drinks in mind, so it’s worth paying attention before ordering.

First, there are our iced coffee glasses. These are around 95 mm tall and hold 300 ml. These are the glasses we grab in the office when it’s time for an iced latte or iced americano.

Then there are our latte glasses. These are much taller (145 mm) and slimmer (71 mm), exactly how a latte macchiato glass should be. A glass that’s too wide simply won’t give you that characteristic foam layer a latte macchiato is known for.

The material is different too, of course. Our ribbed glasses are made from high-quality borosilicate glass, while our barista cups are made from glazed porcelain.

Ribbed glasses by Barista-Essentials

Also good to know: our glasses have a rounded inner bottom instead of a flat one. This is a feature often found in barista glasses and cups because it helps protect your coffee’s crema (and good crema = better latte art).

Latte glasses

Most latte glasses have a capacity between 250 ml and 350 ml. They are also taller and sometimes slimmer than most other coffee cups.

Our latte macchiato glasses have the following features:

• Capacity: 350 ml
• Height: 145 mm
• Diameter: 71 mm
• Material: Ribbed borosilicate glass

Also useful alongside your latte glass is an espresso pitcher. This allows you to catch your espresso first and then pour it into your latte macchiato glass. Read more here about making a latte macchiato.

Iced coffee glasses

Our iced coffee glass has the following features:

• Capacity: 300 ml
• Height: 95 mm
• Diameter: 77.5 mm
• Material: Ribbed borosilicate glass

This ribbed glass is also very suitable as a latte glass or cappuccino glass, especially if you enjoy a double cappuccino.

Thanks to the wide diameter (77 mm), you can also use these glasses very well for latte art.
